Student is Waltz champion

Second year IB student, Taisija Sifrina, has won first place in the Novice Waltz in an university dance competition!

Alongside her dance partner, Oxford University student Latt Mansor, they also took second place in Novice Quickstep and made five rounds ending in the semi-finals in Latin. The inter-university dance competition was held in Sheffield and organised by the Inter Varsity Dance Association (IVDA).

Taisija is from Lithuania and used to compete in the open championships organised by International Dance Sport Federation (IDSF).

The Inter Varsity Dance Association was set up in 1962 to promote Ballroom and Latin American dancing within universities and to raise the standard of dancing amongst students. View the competition results.

We're proud to have many talented dancers at St. Clare's, indeed Dancesport is an activity which the College provides as part of the CAS element of the IB Diploma.
