Markets and art
22 students from our adult courses went on a trip to Borough Market and Tate Modern in London. The
south bank of the River Thames is a wonderful place to explore; old iconic buildings and new
inspiring places to visit. The view along the Thames is stunning -
Tower Bridge, the
Tower of London,
Southwark Cathedral,
Shakespeare's Globe Theatre and
St. Paul's Cathedral being just the highlights.
First stop was lunch at
Borough Market, London's oldest food market. Delicious treats from all over the world
can be found here along with traditional vegetable stalls, freshly baked bread and cakes.
In the afternoon, we visited
Tate Modern art gallery. Originally a power station, the massive building has become a
stunning art gallery hosting modern art of the Tate Gallery.
With Oxford just 50 minutes from London our students are able to go to the city for culture trips, shopping, sport and
entertainment.
