St Clare’s is proud to announce that the artwork of IB students Annie, Petra and Diana is on display at the ‘Child of War’ exhibition organised by the charity Beyond Conflict and curated by award-winning artist Isabella Dorman, in collaboration with the Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral in London.
The exhibition features art and literature by children from Ukraine, Syria, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan and Britain, depicting the devastating consequences of war as seen through their eyes.
Beyond Conflict is a mental health charity for victims of war, terrorism and displacement and was founded in 2018 to deliver free mental health support and training to survivors of conflict and to frontline workers serving them.
We are pleased that our students Nina, Yael and Maria are volunteering their time to support the charity with their social media channels. As part of their work, they also interviewed their peers, asking what peace looks like to them. Here’s the video:
“St Clare’s in Oxford, has volunteered to throw its support behind Child of War by helping us launch a TikTok and Insta campaign led by three sixth formers. They are amazing young women with a passion for our work. I am so excited and thrilled about this collaboration. Nina, Maria and Yael, I am inspired by your commitment, imagination and compassion to make a difference in the world. Thank you.” – Edna Fernandes, Director/Co-Founder at Beyond Conflict
The exhibition is open until 9 June 2024 at the Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral, Duke St, London.
