Easter vacation - 3 April - 14 April 2006
As long standing experts in the provision of the IB
we offer two revision courses at Easter.
1. Intensive revision courses
for second year Diploma students
2. Chinese A1 - support for 'self study' students
The purpose of the revision courses is to provide students
with an opportunity to review the work covered in their Diploma programme
and to embark upon a structured programme of preparation for examination
in May or November.
The
courses are an ideal way to prepare in an organised and structured manner,
for final Diploma examinations. Away from the interruptions of normal
school and home routines, small class sizes enable individual attention
to problem areas.
All courses include:
· A review of work covered but not fully understood
· Topics which frequently appear in examinations
· Topics which students typically tend to find difficult
· Practice on questions from past examination papers
· Opportunities to address individual difficulties
Subjects available:
Students will normally elect for a different subject on each of the

3 April - 14 April 2006 - An introduction to A1
Chinese
This course is for native Chinese speakers who are
in their first year of the IB Diploma course and are taking Chinese A1
as a supported self study option.
The
programme provides a complete course for students following the Chinese
A1 course as a self study option. A combination of residential courses
and distance learning methods will enable students to receive high quality
guidance and support from an expert in the field.
The
two week residential course during the Easter holiday provides an introduction
to the Chinese A1 course, and as such is regarded as a compulsory component.
Subsequent residential courses will be available during the Summer and
Autumn holidays.
Tutorial
support will be provided using distance learning methods, to enable students
to continue working toward their final examinations in May 2007.
During
the two week Easter course, students will attend Chinese A1 classes with
St. Clare's own A1 Chinese IB tutor, a highly experienced Chinese national
and literature expert.
Students
will also be expected to complete a number of assignments over the two
week period.
