St. Clare's Home

Unsurprisingly the vast majority of St. Clare's graduates go to university as the next step in their career. The majority of these are UK universities, whilst others are international, each place reflecting the interests, abilities and aspirations of students. Other students develop their personal skills and interests by taking a 'gap' year in which to travel, work or volunteer and thus improve their career prospects prior to continuing in education. The list of university destinations in 2005 is impressive, reflecting the remarkable academic success of the 2005 graduates.

UK universities
This year 29 students have been placed in the top 10 UK universities and 20 more in the next 10 highest ranked universities. These universities are ranked nationally by teaching, research, entry standards, staff- student ratio, library/computing spending, First and Second class degrees awarded, destinations and efficiency.

While there is no official overall ranking system of universities in the UK, St. Clare's uses the rankings produced by The Times newspaper. Alternative rankings that may be useful are those from The Guardian and those that rank courses rather than universities. St. Clare's advises students to consider course rankings as well as those for universities when choosing their universities.

University Destinations 2004
In 2004, 22 students took up places at a university ranked in the top 10 by the 2005 Times Good University Guide. Four students took up places in the United States and two in Canada.

The list of universities which accepted St. Clare's graduates includes Oxford, Warwick, Manchester, King's College London, Imperial College London, University College London, Bristol, Architecture Academy London, Stanford University, Wellesley College, Bates College, North Eastern University Boston, McGill University, Vienna University, Beijing University, Pavia University Italy, Beijing University and Seoul University.
