COURSE NOW FULL

For students about to embark upon an IB Diploma programme.
Devised and developed by the Diploma teachers at St. Clare's, this unique three week course enables students to refine and develop their study skills in preparation for the Diploma programme in their own school.
The course aims to make clear the demands which the Diploma student will face. It gives them an invaluable head start with much of the subject matter as well as providing a firm foundation in those components of the IB Diploma which make it a unique qualification.

IB Studies
Subject classes take place each weekday morning, providing a total of 18 hours of subject teaching over the week.
Introductory courses in Science, Mathematics, English and Individuals and Societies are combined with elements of The Theory of Knowledge (TOK), Creativity, Action and Service (CAS), and Study Skills.

Optional Afternoon Programme
(additional charge of £160 per course)
These optional afternoon classes operate on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday:

  • Written English (native speakers)
  • English Grammar (non - native speakers)
  • Preparation for UK university entrance (weeks 2 & 3)
  • Study skills (introduction course only)

The Library
Situated in the heart of the College and open throughout the year, the extensive resources of the library are made available to all Institute students. The large facility houses all the texts required for the full range of IB subjects and is a rich source of information and inspiration.
St. Clare's extensive collection of IB past papers and examiners' reports is an invaluable resource for Diploma teachers and students. ICT facilities including high speed Internet access are available to students within the library and in many other locations throughout.
