St. Clare's has a very strong record of university placement (take a look at our university destinations for 2006):
• Each year around 100 students from St. Clare's enter universities in the UK, USA and elsewhere.
• About 70% enter British universities, mainly those considered "premier" or "highly selective". These include Oxford; Cambridge; Imperial College, London; London School of Economics (LSE); University College, London; Warwick; St. Andrews; Edinburgh.
• 10-15 students enter universities in the USA, including premier universities such as Columbia, University of Pennsylvania, Haverford, and Yale.
• Other students enter universities in a variety of countries, such as the Netherlands, Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand, Russia, and Kazakhstan.
• St. Clare's has a full-time Careers and Higher Education Adviser to assist students with applications to British universities and those in other countries, except the USA.
• The US Universities Counsellor assists students wishing to apply to universities in the USA.
• Individual appointments may be made with the Adviser or the US Universities Counsellor to discuss future study plans and to assist with applications.
• A comprehensive programme of talks by College staff and visiting university representatives is arranged.
• There is an extensive library of prospectuses and information about higher education opportunities in the UK, and elsewhere, at undergraduate level.
• The College has special programmes to assist students to prepare for IELTS (an English language test required by some universities for non-native speakers) and SATs (for US university entry).
• St.Clare's is a centre for SAT exams
