Duke of Edinburgh Award - gold
The Duke of Edinburgh's Award is a four section programme with three progressive levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold. The Sections
involve: Creativity (a hobby, skill or interest); Action (sports, dance, fitness); Service (helping the community); Expeditions
(on foot, cycle, horseback, or water); and a Residential Project at Gold (an enterprise with people not known to the participant).
St. Clare's offers students an opportunity to complete the Gold Duke of Edinburgh's Award while at the College. The Gold award takes
18 months to complete as a direct entrant or 12 months if the student has completed the Silver award. The activities involved in the
Gold Duke of Edinburgh's Award also count towards each student's CAS (Creativity, Action, Service) credit.
The
Duke of Edinburgh's Award, is a voluntary, non-competitive programme of activities for anyone aged 14-25. It offers an individual
challenge and encourages young people to undertake exciting, constructive, challenging and enjoyable activities.
