Business and enterprise

St. Clare's Pre-IB students joined forces with their counterparts from neighbouring Wychwood School on Thursday to work on developing their business and enterprise skills and knowledge.

The 60 students worked together in groups of six, finding out about their different education systems and engaging in simulated work situations. The programme for the day included a presentation on entrepreneurship and working abroad from Expat Knowhow and activities organised by the Oxfordshire Education Business Partnership.

The day finished with the groups working on plans to host a Sports Personality of the Year presentation dinner – the photos show some of the results. Students were able to develop their planning and enterprise skills with the expertise of local business representatives from The Holiday Inn and Sainsbury's human resources staff.

Liz Reece (Careers and Higher Education Adviser at St. Clare's) and Lesley Henk (Careers Teacher at Wychwood School) both see great benefits of working together and feel that bringing two schools together widens the horizons of all students and simulates working life having to work with unknown colleagues.

Well done to all of those who took part!
