New rowing club for college
I am delighted to announce the establishment of St Clare's Rowing club. After a very successful introduction to the Rowing at Grosvenor Rowing Club we have now arranged to rent Worcester College Boat Club's facilities on a bi-weekly basis. Students who take part in rowing are taught to row in an Eight on the river Isis with guidance from an elite coxswain and under my careful eye cycling along side from the bank. Matthew Greenwood explains "I thought rowing was all about being big and strong but after taking part I now realise that good technique is far more important and the ability to work as a team is vital - I'm really enjoying it." Our next rowing session is on the 13 November so if you happen to be walking along the river Isis between 2.00 pm and 5.00 pm be sure to look out for us! Students who have taken part in rowing so far include: Miriam Eimannsberger, Paul-Lukas Hoffschmidt, Andrew Reece, Zachary Ely, Matthew Greenwood, Christopher Caioni, Marcin Wojnowski, Sarah Burlein, Stepan Nazaretyan, Soe Htet Aung, Dinmukhammed Abilov and Daria Li Marienfeld.
