Students are Heros

Inspired by award winning project ‘Women are Heroes' undertaken by the French photographer, JR, a small group of English Plus Academic Studies students decided to try their hand at their own photo project entitled ‘Students are Heroes'.

Drawing on the amazing range of cultural diversity at St. Clare's, Oxford, the students themselves are the faces in the photos, each with their own story.

JR is an artist and photographer whose identity is unconfirmed. He started his work on the streets of Paris and describes himself as a "photograffeur". He started flyposting large black and white photographic images in public spaces using the streets as "the largest art gallery in the world". Starting in 2007 JR's work is now exhibited in galleries worldwide.
