As part of our social events programme some students from our Bardwell Road adult centre visited the city of Lisbon in Portugal. The group visited some of the most beautiful parts of the city as well as sampling the nightlife in the Barrio Alto district and going to the beach Cascais. They took a tram to Castelo de Sao Jorge, which features some of the best views of the city and went to the magnificent Mosteiro dos Jeronimos. Afterwards, it was time for pastries at Belen café with a traditional Portuguese meal in the evening. Early on Sunday morning, some of the group went to visit the Cathedral Sé de Lisboa, and then everyone took the train to Sintra to visit the amazing Palace Pena. A great weekend.
