Girls' Sixes

The Girls' football team took part in the Independent Schools Football Association (ISFA) Girls' Sixes tournament held at Bradfield College, Reading. Fourteen teams battled it out to win the Under 18 title. St. Clare's were defeated in all four matches against George Heriot's, Edinburgh, Wycombe Abbey, Chigwell and King's College, Taunton. With each game Riikka Avotie grew in confidence in goal. Hannah Woodfield (Captain), Emma Louise Kollien Gjerde and Kristin Doneva worked tirelessly in defence. Giulia Merla; Madeleine de Brouchoven de Bergeyck and Anna Nagel did put some nice moves together in midfield. Sara Halkiopoulos and Helen Schlemminger tried their best in attack.

The girls have trained together for the past three weeks and this tournament was their first competitive outing.

The next two fixtures against Malvern College will give the girls experience of playing 11-a-side football.
