Our summer courses for young people aged between 15 and 17 years are a combination of stimulating English language learning with a brilliant programme of activities and sport.
The Banbury Road Campus, where you will live and study, is a five minute bus ride from the city-centre. Oxford has
lots to offer during the summer; there are the fascinating university colleges, parks, museums, great shops, restaurants, pubs and night-clubs. Punting on the river with friends is well worth a try.
As you would expect, St. Clare's is well equipped for your studies. The following facilities are available for you to use seven days a week.
- Classrooms
- Free WIFI email and internet access
- Library - books as well as DVDs for film shows in your house
- College hall
- Dining room
- Sugar House café
- College residential houses
Houses
Boys and girls are accommodated separately in one of our houses. Most rooms are twins with some single, triple and four-bedded rooms. Each house has a resident Warden who is responsible for looking after you. There is a common room with TV and DVD player and card-operated washing machines for personal laundry.
Meals
All meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner, are taken in the college dining room. Sandwiches and snacks are also available from the Sugar House café. There is always a choice of main course, a salad bar, fresh fruit and a vegetarian option.
Dietary requirements are catered for; just tell us what you need.
Experienced staff
Our staff are all carefully chosen. They are properly qualified and experienced and have all been officially checked for their suitability to work with young people. Many of them return to work with us each summer.
Activities
St. Clare's offers a wide range of activities during the summer. The activities programme is an important part of the overall educational experience and all students are expected to take part. We have a dedicated team of Activities Organisers who will make sure you take advantage of all the exciting things they have planned for you. Take a look at our sample activities programme. You have one free excursion or activity each week. Additional excursions and activities can be booked and paid for at the Activities Office. There are plenty of things to do that do not cost extra.
