The Bardwell Road Centre

All students study at our specially dedicated site, the Bardwell Road Centre, which is a ten-minute walk from the Banbury Road campus, just 1 km from the centre of Oxford and close to local shops, cafés, bars, banks and a post office. Students are provided with the following: 

  • Data-projectors with internet access link to classrooms
  • Wi-fi access in the houses and common rooms, together with the facilities in the computer room, encourage independent study and make 'blended learning' a reality
  • The St. Clare's intranet gives exclusive access to a wide range of on-line resources and provides links to many useful sites, web projects and recent class podcasts
  • The 'Open Learning and Homework Club' with scheduled teacher support provides focused help with homework exercises and other research projects

Accommodation

St. Clare’s occupies 25 substantial buildings in Oxford including classrooms, residential accommodation, a library, computer and dining rooms. 

  • St. Clare’s has 5 large residential houses exclusively for adult students
  • All houses are supervised by a resident House Manager
  • Houses are located either within 15 minutes’ walk or a short bus ride away
  • You can return to the house when you wish, but we expect you to observe the house rules, which protect the privacy, security and welfare of all residents
  • All houses are non-smoking
  • Sheets, duvets and towels are provided and for personal laundry, there is a laundrette on site
  • Students may prefer to live with a local host.

Meals at St. Clare’s

Students can choose to have all meals provided at the College or to have self-catering accommodation with a private or shared kitchen. 

  • Meals are served in one of the College dining rooms
  • We provide a healthy and nutritional choice of meals
  • There is a wide range of hot and cold choices, including vegetarian options
  • Self-catering students may buy lunch and other meals at the College.
