St. Clare's, Oxford

St. Clare's is certainly more challenging academically than my previous school. As a student one has the opportunity to develop a much closer relationship with the teachers and enjoy a lot of personal attention and assistance. I would recommend St. Clare's to someone who is looking to expand horizons, both academically and socially.  The experience at St. Clare's is shaped very much by one's own initiative.  By utilising the many opportunities and activities offered here, you will enjoy a truly valuable and memorable experience.

St. Clare's has been an amazing experience for me both socially and intellectually. It has enabled me to meet people from all over the world and to create friendships for life. The teachers have greatly motivated me and I have clearly seen this from my progress during these last 2 years. St. Clare's has taught me to be a responsible and independent worker even though the teachers were always there when we needed their help.

To me St. Clare's is a second home, as here at St. Clare's you get to know your friends, housemates and roommates so well that they feel like family.  There is a definite feeling of a caring, family like environment here, as everyone is here for the same reasons; to gain an international education, to develop themselves and to meet people from around the world.  The vibrant and cheerful atmosphere created by everyone so passionate about our futures, is why I feel so supported, so believed in and motivated.

St. Clare's is a small school so everyone knows almost everyone, at least by name. Because it's such a close-knit community, people are friendly to each other and help each other a lot. Each one of us wants to be the best in what we do, but it doesn't create an environment of tension or unhealthy competition. On the contrary, people are very keen on helping others and supporting them in whatever it is that they want to accomplish.

St. Clare's is a place of opportunities.  A place to strive academically, a place to pursue your passions, a place to grow up in, a place to make friends, but above all a multicultural environment which allows you to learn not just for school, but for life.

St. Clare's is and will always be my first home away from home. An amazing place to fully enjoy the IB experience. Behind the 'curtains' of an excellent academic environment, is the fun, culture and history of one of the temples of learning in the world: Oxford. To me St. Clare's means simply, the best choice of my life so far!

At first I was intrigued by the IB programme and I felt like challenging myself with it instead of A levels.  Then I learnt about the environment, both academic-wise and extra-curriculum-wise that St. Clare's is able to offer.  I felt the perfect match between myself and the IB as well as St. Clare's, and then, with no second choice and back-up plan, I went for it.

I especially enjoyed the friendly environment, produced by each member of staff and student.  I very much enjoyed the teaching methods employed and the variety of things I have learnt, be it in class or with the CAS programme.  In addition to this I enjoyed meeting students from very different countries and believe this has helped me appreciate very much the variety of world cultures.

What I enjoyed the most was the internationalism that shapes the atmosphere at St. Clare's.  In a more globalized world, where places have converged and will even more so in the future, the international values and skills I developed during my time at St. Clare's will accompany me forever.
