St. Clare's students are welcomed by institutions all over the world, and during their two years at St. Clare's they are well prepared for university entry and given guidance and support in the application process.
- Each year about 110 students from St. Clare's enter universities in the UK, USA and elsewhere.
- Around 75% enter British universities, mainly those considered premier or highly selective. These include Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial College London, St. Andrews, University College London, Warwick, London School of Economics and Edinburgh.
- On average 8-10 students enter universities in the USA, including premier universities such as Penn, NYU, Brown, MIT, Johns Hopkins, Cornell, Michigan, Middlebury and Haverford.
- Other students enter highly regarded universities in a variety of countries, such as Canada, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Russia, Japan and Kazakhstan.
Most students start university immediately while a small proportion choose to develop their personal skills and interests by taking a 'gap year' in which to travel, work or volunteer and thus improve their career prospects prior to continuing in education.
Students in the class of 2013 applied far and wide and have been successful in taking places at prestigious universities around the world This has been a year of excellent results, which has ensured success for our students, particularly at a time when competition is strong.

The choice of degree subjects includes Accounting and Finance, Archaeology and Anthropology, Archaeology and Ancient Civilizations, Arts and Sciences, Biochemistry, Business, Chemistry, Economics, Electrical & Electronic Engineering with Management, Engineering with Business Finance, European Social and Political Studies, French and Linguistics, Geography, International Relations, Mechanical Engineering, Modern Languages, Planning and Real Estate, PPE, Politics, Politics and Philosophy, Psychology, Urban Planning and Design Management.

Of the 109 students who graduated with the International Baccalaureate Diploma in 2013 most applied to UK universities but 12 choose to continue their studies in universities and liberal arts colleges in the United States; 2 of our international students received substantial scholarships to support their study.

Ranking universities is of course very subjective and what is most pleasing is that the students did not generally seek out these universities for their high rank but for their specific excellence in the fields of study they have chosen for the future, from aeronautical engineering to international relations to drama, and in which we are sure they will excel.
