Focus your studies with One-to-One Private English Lessons
Focus on the personal development of your English Language studies with our one-to-one private English lessons. Private classes allows a one to one experience with your tutor. The Director of Studies will match our teachers’ expertise to your requirements and interests, encouraging you by setting goals and providing feedback in one-to-one lessons to help you make the maximum progress in the shortest possible time.
Improving the confidence and skills of individuals across the world
Over the past year, for example, we have built the confidence and improved the performance of individuals from across the world by supporting their professional, academic and personal language needs:
1. Professional language — for business, finance, education, medicine, law
- the language and strategies for good presentations and negotiations
- cross-cultural sensitivity and awareness
- drafting and re-drafting articles for professional journals
Recent trainees: a senior academic (the Netherlands), CEO media company (South Korea), legal adviser (Brazil)
2. Academic language — for students, undergraduates and postgraduates
- note-taking and report writing skills
- presentations for seminars
- SATs: academic reasoning training
- linguistic support for dissertations
Recent trainees: postgraduate student (United Arab Emirates), pre-Masters student (China)
3. Personal language — for confidence, examinations, travel and leisure
- voice training: projection, intonation and stress, accent reduction
- support for “false beginners” who have a mismatch of language skills reading, writing, listening and speaking
- tips and practice for specific examinations — IELTS, Cambridge Exams, Business English Certificates (BEC)
Recent trainees: accountant (Qatar), retired businessman (Japan), fashion buyer (South Korea), property developer (Saudi Arabia), gap year student (Germany)
Course information
Age: 17 +
Level: beginner to advanced CEF A0 to C2
Length: one week +
Lessons: 10 or 15 or 25 lessons per week of individual tuition (9.2 or 13.75 or 23 hours)
If you have just a week or two to spare, this programme allows you to focus directly on your own language development:
- Professional language in your chosen field (business, finance, education, medicine, travel etc.)
- Academic language for students, undergraduates and post-graduates
- Personal language for confidence, examinations, travel and leisure
The Course Path involves a number of critical stages supported by a tutor from our experienced team:
- Self-evaluation (your ‘needs and wants’)
- Diagnosis (analysis and targets)
- Monitoring (progress checks and updates)
- Self-study (preparation and follow-up tasks)
- Feedback (continuous learning ideas)

Course dates and fees
Although the minimum length of stay for One-to-One students is two weeks, you might like to choose your arrival date to match dates when other new students are arriving and enjoy the atmosphere.
From September to May, university students from America come here to study as part of their gap year. You will be able to live with them in college and share your social life as a group. This is a unique experience to improve your English.

Optional Extras
Personal Language Training
Students can add one-to-one English language lessons to their language classes. Lessons last 55 minutes and are charged at £57 per lesson.

Fees for the following examinations are currently between approximately
£150 -£210.
