The Times Top 30: St Clare’s sits among the best!

31/08/2017

St Clare’s brilliant 2017 IB Diploma results have cemented our place among the top co-ed schools in the UK according to The Times newspaper’s recently published league table. St Clare’s was placed 26th in the ranking which is based on the percentage of IB Higher Level Diploma scores at 6 or 7 and A Level grades at A* and A grade.

Not only that, more than a quarter of St Clare’s candidates achieved 40 points or higher which means that they are in the top 5% of students worldwide. Our average score was 36.1 which is considerably above the world average. Perhaps the most astonishing statistic is that no fewer than four of our candidates achieved the perfect score of 45 points, only awarded to 0.2% of students across the globe.

2017 has proved to be an excellent year for university entry too. The vast majority of St Clare’s students have achieved places at their first choice universities. Highlights include a record six places at the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge, one Harvard University Full Scholarship, a place at the exclusive Courtauld Institute in London and four students gaining places at medical school. Moreover, one student has won a place on the University of Southern California’s elite World Business Bachelor’s course which is run in partnership with Bocconi and Hong Kong Universities. 47% of St Clare’s leavers will be attending World Top 100 universities in the UK, USA and Europe.

Principal Andy Rattue commented: “I congratulate all our students on their outstanding results which are a reflection of all their hard work and dedication. I am also delighted that they embody the values of open-mindedness and internationalism which are central to our mission at St Clare’s.”
