Accommodation for our Juniors age 10-15

We make sure that all of our young students are very well cared for and safe when they come to St Clare’s for their summer course.

Our junior courses are based at our Summer Junior Campus in Headington, a 10-minute drive from the main Banbury Road campus and Oxford city centre. Enclosed within a perimeter wall with a secure gate, the campus is a safe and welcoming place for your child.

Accommodation

Bedrooms vary from singles to small dormitories in different houses and each house is supervised by a member of staff who help with problems at any time, day or night. Where possible older students are given single or twin rooms.

Students share rooms with others usually of a different nationality but similar age. Boys and girls are accommodated separately and may not enter each other’s bedrooms. Towels and bed linen are provided and are normally changed every 10 days. Students need to bring their own towel for swimming.

Meals

All meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) are taken in the school dining hall. When students are on trips or excursions we will provide them with packed lunches. If your child needs a special diet, or facilities/arrangements for religious observance, please tell us and we will make the necessary arrangements.

Sports

All students on the course are encouraged to take part in sports, including swimming. The sports facilities on the campus include tennis courts, football field, swimming pool, swings and playground, beautiful gardens and open spaces for games and competitions.

Supervision

Junior students aged between 10-12 are not allowed to leave the campus without adult supervision. The 13-15 year old students may be allowed some independence for shopping on specified afternoons. This permission will only be given if they have demonstrated a mature attitude. Each student will be checked out and checked in and no student may go out unsupervised in the evenings.
