English Combination course structure

The programme consists of 20 lessons per week which include:

Group classes: develop your grammar and vocabulary, as well as your fluency and accuracy in English. Lessons incorporate the four key skills reading, writing, listening and speaking.

Private 1-to-1 lessons: focus on your personal language needs to help you make the maximum progress in the shortest possible time. Our 1-to-1 lessons with a personal language tutor allow you to focus directly on your language development to develop skills, build confidence and improve fluency. 

1. Professional language — for business, finance, education, medicine and law:

  • Interpersonal skills: develop language strategies for presentations and negotiations
  • Cross-cultural awareness: develop knowledge of cultural sensitivities to help you integrate into life in the UK
  • Academic writing skills: practise drafting articles for professional journals

2. Academic language — for students, undergraduates and post-graduates:

  • Academic critical writing: improve your note-taking, report writing skills and linguistic ability for essay writing
  • Communication skills: develop your presentation skills for seminars
  • SATs: enhance academic reasoning

3. Personal language — for confidence, examinations, travel and leisure:

  • Voice training: improve your projection, stress and intonation as well as reduce accents
  • Language progress in the 4 key areas: develop language skills to align levels of reading, writing, listening and speaking
  • Preparation for IELTS or Cambridge exams: including tips and exam practise
