Duke of Edinburgh Award

by on 29/05/2018

We are an approved centre of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. Therefore if you are an IB student, you can complete the Gold Award with us.

The Gold Award is achieved by completing a personal programme of activities including:

  • Volunteering
  • Physical
  • Skill
  • Expedition – training weekend, practice expedition and a qualifying expedition
  • Residential – 5 days and 4 nights taking part in a shared activity

Students can use their weekly Creativity, Activity and Service experiences to achieve the Gold Award, which meets the requirements of a CAS project.

During weekly school sessions, students develop navigation skills, camp craft and develop route cards which are used for their expeditions. They can walk up to 21 km a day traveling to each checkpoint, carrying their food, clothing and camp supplies.

The Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is a real adventure, builds fitness levels and creates lasting friendships.
