On Saturday, September 6th, I took part in one of the activities proposed by the school, which is part of the orientation week for newly arrived students, the Oxford Treasure Hunt.

On Saturday morning, we were first divided according to the colours assigned on the very first day—green, blue, red, and yellow. Afterwards, we were further asked to form groups of three to four people of our choice.

The activity consisted of a sort of treasure hunt through the streets of central Oxford. We were given a link on our phones containing various tasks to complete. Some required us to enter specific words or phrases that we would find in certain cafés, shops, and monuments, while others required us to take photos or selfies.

Completing the entire form was fairly easy since all the places were easily recognisable and straightforward to locate. However, what I personally found more challenging was the need to orient myself in a completely unfamiliar city. Fortunately, we were very lucky with the weather that morning, which was pleasant.

I found this activity to be highly stimulating, creative, and instructive. It enabled me to meet new people from the school, to become familiar with the city in which I am now living, and therefore to improve my ability to navigate it more confidently in the future.
