In November, St Clare’s organised a special MUN Day in Oxford, and it is a day I will never forget. The event took place in the Oxford Town Hall, a beautiful and historic building whose elegant rooms made the occasion feel even more significant. Students from different classes came together to discuss major global issues, just as delegates do in the real United Nations.

We also participated in various debates regarding different current global issues. I participated in the discussion regarding the Gaza-Israel conflict. We shared ideas on how neighbouring countries, or even those outside the region, could help bring peace and stability to the region. it was inspiring to hear so many different perspectives. It made me realise how challenging it can be to find solutions to such problems, yet how worthwhile the effort still is.

The event helped me understand global issues more clearly, and it also made me feel more confident speaking in front of an audience. By the end of the day at the Town Hall, I left feeling inspired, grateful, and excited for future experiences like this.
