At St. Clare's you can choose from
a variety of high quality accommodation options. Our accommodation
is beautifully situated in north Oxford. While all rooms are comfortable
and tastefully decorated, the settings vary between elegant Victorian
houses and a modern custom-built complex.
Take a look at our housing
photo gallery for an insight into residential life.
All College houses
are supervised by resident staff and are non-smoking. Bed linen and towels
are provided. For personal laundry, there is a laundrette on site; some
houses have coin-operated washing machines.
Quality and choice
Our students live in 5 residential houses, located within 15 minutes'
walk of our adult Bardwell Road Centre or a short bus ride away. Students
may choose their accommodation options at the time of booking.
College
rooms are 'standard' or 'superior' quality: 'Standard' usually means a
twin room in a house or apartment with shared bathroom. There is a hand
basin in most rooms. 'Superior' means a single or twin room with a private
shower and toilet.
You can choose
self-catering, where you cook for yourself in a shared kitchen, or you
can buy meals in College. The Bardwell Road Centre dining room serves
breakfast and lunch Monday to Friday; the Banbury Road Campus dining room
serves brunch Saturday and Sunday and dinner every day. Each dining room
offers hot and cold choices (including vegetarian), sandwiches and drinks.
If you wish, you can choose to pay for all College meals in advance (our
meals included option).
The College is
a community and you are expected to observe the house rules. These are
designed to safeguard the privacy, security and welfare of all residents.
A few students
may prefer to live with a selected local family, or in a guesthouse or
hotel. If this is the case, please let us know.
