We invite applications for our Scholar's Programme from highly motivated 
        students who would particularly enjoy academic challenge in the fields 
        of Religious Studies or Philosophy.
        
The 
        Scholar's Programme is a joint initiative between St. Clare's and Blackfriars' 
        Hall, a private permanent Hall of the Oxford University run by the  
        Dominican Friars.
      The Scholar's Programme of study (18 units 
        of academic credit) includes: 
        • One-to-one tutorial teaching at Blackfriars in one course from 
        the areas of Philosophy or Religious Studies (six units of credit)
        • Three St. Clare's Liberal Arts courses (each equivalent to three 
        units of credit)
        • The St. Clare's Seminar Series (three units of credit) 
      Other benefits of the Scholar's Programme
        •  At least one lecture course in the Blackfriars Studium 
        •  Access to language courses in Latin, Greek or Hebrew in the Blackfriars 
        Studium during the Autumn semester when an appropriate course is available;
        •  Membership of the Junior Common room at Blackfriars,
        • Invitations to Blackfriars' social events 
        •  A financial award of £750 towards tuition costs.
      Application procedures
        In addition to the completed application pack for the Liberal Arts Programme 
        entry, Scholar's Programme applicants must provide the following:
        •  Evidence of an A-/A grade average (3.75 GPA in the case of US 
        undergraduates)
        •  A separate Scholarship Programme application letter
        •  An academic reference endorsing suitability for the Scholar's 
        Programme 
        •  a profile of personal and academic interests
        •  a recent photograph 
      Please note that only 2 or 3 students are selected onto the Scholar's 
        Programme each semester.
