Open days at St. Clare's

Welcome to St. Clare's: a very different sixth form experience

We hold three or more Open Days during the academic year. During these open days you will have the opportunity to take a tour of the college given by current students and attend sample classes.  You will also have the chance to meet the Principal and attend presentations by the Vice Principal and current St. Clare's students.  You are also very welcome to join us for lunch in the College dining room.

If you'd like to come and see the College at another time, we're always very happy to make an appointment for you to visit.

Our recent open days have highlighted how many people are interested in learning more about the IB Diploma. This is hardly surprising in light of the new UCAS tariff in which the IB compares very favourably with A levels and the recent surveys of how highly regarded applicants with the IB are by top universities both in Britain and around the world.

Chris Osbourn, Admissions Registrar at St. Clare's, was formerly an admissions professional at Cambridge University and King's College, London. Chris recalls how these universities welcomed IB student applications, as the grading system and demands of the IB demonstrated the candidate's abilities and talents so well, and allowed real distinctions between candidates to be made.

St. Clare's has offered the IB longer than any other provider in England, and is the 14th longest established IB provider in the world. You will find lots of background information on this website, and you can, of course contact us if you have specific questions about how we teach the IB and why we believe the IB Diploma to be such an important qualification.

Please do contact Chris - he will be able to contact you when our next Open Day dates for the academic year 2008/2009 are finalised and also tell you about our range of Scholarships and Bursaries and the application procedure.
