What the accommodation fees include |
College houses
- Supervised accommodation from the day of arrival to the morning after the last day of the course; bed linen and towels; room cleaning (weekdays); heating and lighting.
- Accommodation fees include your stay in your house during the mid semester breaks but not the two week spring break.
- If you have chosen to include meals you are entitled to breakfast and dinner every day and lunch Monday to Friday (excluding the semester breaks)
Homestay
- Fees include accommodation as a guest with a local host family (appraised and inspected regularly by our Accommodation Officer), single room, bed linen and towels, laundry facilities, breakfast and dinner every day and support provided by the welfare officer in college. Some of our host families offer a single superior option (ensuite facilities).

Balance of fees
You will receive an invoice for your tuition and accommodation fees.
Tuition
- St. Clare's Liberal Arts Programme tuition fees are charged in US $ dollars.
- Tuition Fees must be paid no later than 3 weeks before the course begins (unless
paying through a university or college).
- If paying Tuition Fees directly, this must be by US $ Dollar cheque or US $ Dollar
International Money Order made payable to St. Clare's, Oxford.
Accommodation
- St. Clare's Liberal Arts Programme accommodation fees are charged in £ Sterling.
- You need to indicate your preference of accommodation type. If your choice is available,
you will be invoiced for that particular room rate for the full semester.
- The balance of your accommodation fees are due for payment not less than 3 weeks before
your course begins. You will not be able to take up residence in St. Clare's accommodation if
there is any outstanding balance.
- You may choose to pay your accommodation fees by credit or debit card. Payments over
£1000 will be subject to a 2% surcharge.
- You can send your accommodation fees by bank transfer to St. Clare's, Oxford using
the details below. Please remember to allow sufficient time for
your payment to clear before the 3 week deadline. The banks will make a charge for
this service.
Travel Insurance Premium
Please note: all students must be covered by the St.
Clare's Travel Insurance for the full duration of the course.
- The Travel Insurance Premium is mandatory and must be paid no later than 3
weeks before the course begins (in £ pounds Sterling).
- Fee Spring Semester 2011 - £66.64
- The premium will be added to your invoice
- Further details about the Travel Insurance Premium are available from the
Liberal Arts Programme Office
- All students are advised to take out personal possessions insurance for items such as laptops,
cameras, ipods, etc.

Optional college weekend trips / theatre visits / excursions, etc.
- Day excursions at weekends - £20 to £25 (though some are free of charge)
- Theatre tickets and transport - £10 to £30
- Weekend trip with overnight stay (2 nights) - £70 to £300

- Allow - £10 to £15 per week
- Stationery / book purchase (loan of books is included in fees)
- General spending money - allow around £70 per week
- Remember, key deposit, police registration (for students from countries outside the EU) and book
purchase all need to be paid for in the first week
