CAS — Creativity Activity Service

The extracurricular programme is one of three core subjects of the International Baccalaureate Diploma called Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS). Each student is required to be involved in CAS experiences on a regular basis over the two years of the Diploma.

We believe that our programme is one of the ways in which education is taken beyond the classroom. The emphasis is on learning by doing real tasks that have real consequences and then reflecting on these experiences over time.

Encouraging open mindedness and lifelong learning

A number of experiences are particularly concerned with the College’s mission of promoting international education and understanding. The CAS experiences aim to develop a spirit of open mindedness, lifelong learning, discovery and self-reliance. Through active participation, our students develop new skills on creative and physical levels.

Our programme also inspires a sense of responsibility towards all members of the community. CAS experiences are led by teachers,  and students themselves. They take place on weekday afternoons and evenings, and at weekends. Optional weekend and vacation trips are also arranged.

Join your favourite sports teams, clubs, and activities

All Diploma students are members of the Oxfordshire Health and Racquets club, which is just a 10-minute walk from college. All club facilities and classes are available to our students at all times. The Activities Department have seven dedicated gym hours, (staff led), in which students can complete individual gym programmes as part of their CAS commitment. The tennis club meet every Monday night on the indoor courts and the squash club meet every Wednesday night on the indoor squash courts.
