A weekend to Lisbon
As part of the International Baccalaureate Diploma, students have to take part in a number of CAS experiences. Trips to town and cities in the UK and abroad enable students to learn about the history; find out more about the culture and traditions; visit museums, art galleries or “hidden gems”. Savouring the local food is a must.
The most recent trip was to Lisbon, Portugal where 30 students and teachers Ricardo da Silva Esteves, Nisha Bauluck and Marzena Kochanska embarked on a cultural trip for the long weekend. The four day trip consisted of visiting several cultural places including the monastery Mosteiro dos Jerónimos where Vasco de Gama is buried and Sao Jorge Castle where students wandered among the ramparts looking down upon the city. The trip wouldn’t be complete without some free time to wander through the busy streets of the Rossio and Baixa area and trying the traditional Portuguese custard tarts at an iconic pastry shop!
